Clean drinking water is one of those things you don’t think about until you don’t have it. When we were driving the Pan-American Highway, we mostly just bought bottled water outright — Mexico has a well-established network of purified water stops that made this easy and cheap. But the further south we went into Central America, those stations got harder to find, and we ended up hauling 5-gallon jugs, which felt both wasteful and expensive. Where We Started

How We’re Actually Using It
Our camper has two 20-gallon tanks — one for incoming source water, one for drinking, feeding the sink and shower. A transfer pump pushes water from the source tank into the CW31-PFBV’s inlet, runs it through a short garden hose, then out through 50 feet of food-grade PVC tubing into the drinking tank. Flip the pump switch, and clean water comes out the other end.
The way we think about it: if we’ve filled the source tank from a trusted spot using the Guzzle H2O’s carbon + UV combo, we can store and use that water directly. But for municipal hookups or anything questionable — especially with PFAS being a real concern in US tap water these days — everything gets run through the iSpring system on its way into our drinking tank.
