Last year while we are at Caravan Salon in Dusseldorf, Germany displaying our van at the Dometic booth, we got to stroll around and see some of the exciting new concepts showcased here. One of the most interesting concept vehicles is at the Hymer booth. This is the Hymer Vision Venture Concept 4×4 Van. We stood in line for 30 minutes to take this guided tour and it is a very impressive vehicle. It is clear that Hymer did a lot of homework to come up with this vehicle. It’s a concept and will likely not make it into production as is but it does display some real innovative thinking for their future products.
In our original tour video, we didn’t get to share our opinions of the concept vehicle. So, in today’s video, we talk about what we liked, what we disliked, what would work for full-time travelers and for families.

I’ve viewed the Hymer Vision concept an several times from different people who have posted their video and pics. My impression of it grows each time I see it. So, how dare they present an idea so likable and unattainable. It interior is so extremely well designed and exudes a feeling of an efficient efficiency living space unit that has a genuine flow complemented with the addition of organic materials and functional design. The upstairs pop up overlook is in synchrony with the rear opening of the rear hatch or tailgate opening. Think about that for a minute when comparing it’s design with other vans with a pop up design. The Hymer Vision also used creative and functional design for the bathroom which is something many can companies don’t seen to take into serious consideration. Hymer Vision designers designed outside the box and blew it out the water and beyond. Bravo to them and I hope the mechanics of a camper van are able to integrate with a design such as this. I am in love with the concept and wish the creative use of space and van body design challenge other designers and companies get just as busy to provide for a different kind of camper customer profile.
