For the past couple years, we heard about this website called Outschool. It’s a marketplace of live online classes led by a teacher via a group video chat. The website has all kinds of classes, covering a variety of subjects: art, coding, history, science, physical activities, etc , ranging in the form of a one-time class to classes that last multiple months.

We’ve known about Outschool for the past couple years but never put much effort into before. Lots of reasons why. One of the reasons is not knowing if our internet is fast and stable enough for video conferences. But the main reason is we are so hesitant to try out something new when it costs money.

Free during COVID-19

So, like we stated in our last homeschooling video, Outschool is offering free classes to those students affected by school closures due to COVID-19. Our kids have actually been taking lots of classes since we made that video. All the classes they took were free until they hit the $100 limit. Our oldest two kids chose art classes which included anime drawings and watercoloring. Our youngest one chose classes about Animals in the Sahara and the Arctic.

Free $20 credit

If you been wanting to try Outschool but have been hesitant about it like we were, we actually have referral link that will give you a $20 credit to any class of your choice. Link here.

And if you do sign up for the $20 credit, it will also deposit $20 in class credit for my kids as well. I call that a win-win.

Make sure you sign up via this link before you apply for COVID-19 class credit (if that applies to you). We detail the sign-up process step by step in the video above.

**

So if your kids are craving some interaction with other kids or a change in their school routine, I think this is a great opportunity for you to sign up. Especially since you can potentially get $120 of free classes based on the two tips I shared above.

And if you do start using Outschool, I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

What is the youngest that the out school would benefit? does it start as early as kindergarten? We have a 3 year old and he’s been doing khan academy kids and loves it but when he reaches kindergarten, I want to see what my options are!

Yes they have kindergarten level classes too. Basic show and tell type classes that lots of young kids like. Our friend’s 4 year old loves them.
